Santa Success!

She finally did it. Ella was not terrified of Santa for the first time. She gave him several hugs and sat on his lap. I also had to clarify earlier today that she would not be seeing St. Nick on Christmas.......apparently she thought she would. I came up with a great reason as to why he had to come while she was sleeping...you know, too many kids-pictures-talking--all take too much time and he'd never get all the stockings filled before Christmas morning. I fully expect her to have sleep issues tomorrow night thinking about it, even though Santa told her she must go to bed on time without arguing.

Being three is so fun!

In case you don't recall, previous year's were 1: screaming on Santa's lap while I held her 2: shaking his hand from afar.

Smoke on the water

While playing the little guitar in the music store after class Ella pauses for a moment and says, "Mama, was that Smoke on the water?"

On her most recent visit to California her cousin Mikayla was always helping her play Smoke on the Water on her guitar.

Too too funny that girl of ours!

Baby boys cause undue stress

So before Ella was born we had the great circumcision debate complete with research on both sides of the fence. I found most of this research to be confusing, unhelpful and very stressful on someone that could be about to give birth to a son or a daughter. In fact I was so concerned about this issue, and we were still undecided (though leaning toward no circumcision), that when Ella was delivered and the Dr. said it's a girl--my first comment to David was, "Now we don't have to decide about circumcision!"

So now I'm 23 weeks with baby #2---who could be a boy or a girl---and we're still undecided about circumcision. I recently brought the issue up with David again and said, "We never decided, remember? So tonight I happened across a link to a recent New York Times article on the subject. Take a read if you want, and even read the two supporting articles from each contributing Doctor. Let me know what you think.

Seriously this time.

Dress-up

Ella loves to play dress-up. At least once a day she'll crack me up with some crazy get up she puts together. Maybe she's destined to be a famous fashion designer?
My favorite is the sock-gloves

The bride "Karla" is taking a rest

Favorite past-time of cleaning the toilet,
(she seriously begs to do it!)
dressed well for it and had to

remove the sock gloves first.

Gabriella Ballerina

For those of you who didn't remember....
yesterday was Ella's first ballet recital! She
was the most beautiful ballerina in her sparkly
pink tutu. We were afraid she might suffer from
performance anxiety since she can be shy at times.
But she clearly inherited my lack of stage fright, and
did such a great job. We are so proud of her and this
accomplishment. The difference in the first class she
attended and this "show" was amazing.
We love you Bella Ballerina.

Butterfly stretches with the crying twins suffering from
stage fright nearby (both covering their eyes).
Thank goodness their mother removed them
after a few minutes so that Ella could concentrate
instead of worry about them crying.

Lovely second position

Intently listening and watching Miss Raquel.

Ribbon free-dance, and boy did
she show us some moves!

Step-and-spin in the hoops...

Then releve back to the barre.

Fifth position with teacher Miss Raquel.

Watching some of her friends
leave in awe as she exclaimed:

"Vanessa and Nila have a car!"
